Next up was a band I had not seen before, Matt White and the Emulsions.

I just knew I would like them after the recognition of the first few bars of the first song, a bit of Tenacious D – Tribute. Not sure all the crowd got what this band were going to be about, singing about the greatest song in the world. But I liked it straight off :)

Other classic covers followed and was one of my fave bands of the day and one I would go see again, with a front man who like his job, some may say too much, but its his job to be full of it and leave it all on the stage. They were cut off in there prime and could have done with a couple of more tracks personally. Good solo guitars and one I happily listened to and tried to remember to get a few pictures at the same time. Good job band… Hope the pictures do them justice.

oh, they were on the good stage for lighting. So got a few more pictures I liked :).

Friday was a long day at work with the promise of heading to Hachfest for a chance to listen to good local bands and get some photos of the event and bands from up close..

So having left work with a short drive to the Hachfest event, best news was that it was a dry night for all but the last few songs…

Bit disappointed with some images as I was trying out a few things on camera and pushed it a bit far at times, but as was first real test using high ISO with this camera, I’m a bit of a low ISO whore and like the lighting to be perfect, that comes from doing lots of studio and flash photography. Still I learnt lots about my camera…. :) and had a good time doing so, wont be making those mistakes again.

Right onto the photos. First up are Electric Dreams, an 80′s cover band, some call it 80′s cheese but I remember too many of the tracks so I must be from the cheese period. Those annoyingly catchy tunes from years gone by sung all with a bit of fun, the first band of the day when the crowd was still arriving and they did a good job.

As you will see they dress up to get into the mood for the songs they sing.

Finally got round to taking some pictures of a family members Harley Davidson. I had in my mind what I wanted to try and capture with the pictures, but the idea was all weather dependent to make it look good. I wanted to get the moody cloudy sky as the sun starts to go down one evening. So I could light bike with flashes to make it stand in the picture.

As it turned out we found a few fields that had been cut and used them with clear countryside backdrops to help get the most out of the sky. Got most of the pictures I wanted but in typical fashion, after I packed up and started to head home the sky got better and the sunset started to turn the sky a nice deep red….. grrr..

Well always another time to try again…….

Bike details: 2003 1450 fatboy, lowered, fat rear end, beach bars, hyper charger, new paint job and lots of chrome… So far…..

Had the chance for the first time in my life of getting to go to the annual event in Ipswich called Music in the Park 2010. A free local music festival for local bands, new and up and coming. Got to be said I picked the perfect year to go as it was hot hot hot….

As per usual I took a camera but it was all about being lazy and not the photography for once but still managed to wander around and get a few quick snaps here and there.

Will be looking forward to the next time I go when I think I might do a bit more on the photography side and listening to the music from down the front rather than way at the back, where it was more chilled. Not that I am complaining, was a good day all round :o)

A few of the bands I got to see are below which include Boulevard Blonde, The Tom Sanderson Band, Electric Dreams and Absent Kid, lots I missed or didnt have the energy to walk down to the front for pictures, but oh well cant see them all. I think I have the names right but correct me if wrong.

Had the chance to take a few pictures of a few cute little kittens over the last few weeks and decided as my last try, I’d see if I could get any of them on a mirror to get a nice reflection under them, trouble was they loved looking at themselves more than towards the camera (most were female tho ;)), but I managed to get a few decent pictures.
