Well Another day, another willing test subject for me to try a few shots out on. This times its Emily and her hat.

I used very much the same locations as with Chris and Megz, but wanted to do more Black and White pictures. Again I tried to lmit myself to 1 flash and just the ambient light on the day.

The day was different, the big clouds had gone from the sky but the sun persisted, leaving the sky rather boring so I didn’t linger long out in the open and tried more shots in the shade of the tress again where the low powered flash had more oomph to give out in the darker areas. Still playing with just a single flash off caera at this time so didnt get all the hots I wanted but learnt a lot over the two days. Chris n Megz and then Emily.

Well here are a few of the photos.

Taken with a single flash under the shade of the tree so I could expose for the sky.

Another taken under the shade of the tree, you can see I zoomed the flash in slightly too much and have a dark lower part of the picture but still a picure that came out OK, old look effect applied.

Using the flash on high power to make the shade under the trees black.

Slightly less flash and part of the background are coming into view.
